IPL 2013 - Frankly speaking!

IPL 2013 is into its 2nd week and we still see the same set of commentators hanging around. Though a lot of new players and stars have entered the fray to delight us with their cricketing skills... the commentary box continues to be dull and predictable.

Some of the oft-repeated phrases: 'I have a feeling...', 'This is turning out to be a...', 'They are dealing in boundaries...', 'They are cruising at the moment...', 'That was a pre-meditated shot..', 'The line belongs to the umpire..', 'The benefit of doubt will go to the...', 'Its a full house here...'.

Really there are many more...!!

The repetativeness robs the games of the spark for the audience sitting at home and enjoying in leisure. Well, some with a better sense of humour do enjoy the bloopers and lapses in focus in the c-box.

Allrighty then, lets add to the spice and bring out some very delightful humour that transpires unintentionally through the lapses in the c-box.

Sharing the fun

This cricket blog is intended to share some funny moments we come across while watching cricket on TV... and these are courtesy of our commentators who are some time (a lot really) off the track in their little speakathons.

Nonetheless as mute spectators we derive great pleasure when we hear the unintentional bloopers from our distinguished commentators. But we are NOT here to point out the flaws in their language only the beauty of words getting terribly misplaced in the sequence of what the action really is...

So amid the cricket world cup and the IPL that is in the near horizon, we begin this journey of listening closely to the spoken word and enriching the fun that is cricket.
